This LED Café Pot is intended to be a piece of functional art, as it not only is a work of visual curiosity, it also serves as a charging station for 4 phones and devices. The Iconic shape is a cultural staple of Miami. It seeks to link the mind to seeing the shapes and recognizable symbols that have an established meaning and advancing that meaning to a new level. Just as the Café from a real pot will recharge a person to take o n the day, so will the LED Café Pot recharge a device so it ready to face its workload. The LED Café Pot is a combination of old-world flavor and new technology. It is made up of a 3D Printed frame and lamp shell along with a complex set of electronic controllers, signal distributors to the 16 rows of the meter-long programable LED-IC lights, power management, a USB hub, and thermal cooling. It also includes the special effect of a mini smoke machine that emits coffee flavored vapor to complete the experience. It takes nearly a week to print the 20 plus pieces that compose the lamp shell and frame that houses the electronic devices. Along with many painstaking hours of assembly as nearly a hundred solder points are needed to complete the signal distribution through the 16 mini-PCB boards to facilitate the function of the LED-IC strings in the desired pattern. V2 As an artist, my creative journey has been a transformational one, characterized by a shift from crafting smaller items of curiosity to embarking on the creation of larger pieces deeply steeped in cultural references and symbology.
